Mwenyezi Mungu Muumba wa Mbingu na Ardhi na vyote vilivyowemo, ndiye Mpangaji wa

utaratibu mzima wa maisha ya mwanaadamu kuanzia kuzaliwa kwake hadi kufa kwake.
Ndiye yeye anayeshusha mitihani ya kila aina kwa wanaadamu,ili kuwapa majaribio juu ya
mitihani hiyo. Mwenye kuwa na subira ndiye atakaeshinda na yule atakaeshindwa ndie
aliyekula hasara, moja ya mitihani hiyo ni “Maradhi”.
Maradhi ni mtihani mkubwa ambao mwanaadamu ameekewa kwa kujaribiwa kuwa
atashukuru au atakufuru. Wengine husema ni adhabu kwa kukithiri maovu ya mwanaadamu,
adhabu au mtihani wa maradhi una siri nzito, hasa pale mwanaadamu unapompata na asijue
dawa ya kumponesha haraka ama kuuguwa kwa muda mrefu, wengiwetu hushindwa
kuwa na subira na kuanza kufeli juu ya mtihani huo. Vyeo huanza kutolewa kwa waungu
watu ambao huchukua madaraka ya Mwenyezi Mungu na kuwa wao ndio wenye uwezo
mkubwa wa kuondoa maradhi hayo.

na hata jamii, huwatumia hata viumbe visivyokuwa sisi kuwasaidia katika kujua habari
nyingi za kifamilia ila mwisho wa yote hakuna liwalo,nikupoteza vitu na mali tu.
Maradhi mengine hushika mpaka ulimwengu na kusababisha majanga makubwa kwa
binaadamu na hata wanyama wengine, shughuli za kiuchumi, kiutamaduni na kitaalamu
zote huzoreteshwa na maradhi hayo, waganga wakuu wa wanaotegemewa na mataifa
hushindwa kupata dawa ya kunusuru majanga hayo.
Hapo mwanaadamu anaanza kubadili njia na kukumbuka kuwa yupo ambae ndie Mshushaji
wa mitihani hii, hivyo watu hugeuza upande na kuanza kufungua nyumba za ibada kwa
kutafuta dawa ya maradhi hayo, hata wale waliokuwa wakiziona haziwahusu, kwa hali
hii huwa ni mstari wa mbele juu ya ibada hizo, hapo ndiyo binaadamu anapata
ukumbusho kuwa ulimwengu haujiendeshi unaendeshwa na muendeshaji mwenyewe ni
Mwenye nguvu na Mwenye hekima afanya alitakalo, muda autakao, pahala atakapo bila
kuangalia matakwa ya watu fulani.

8. Read the following passage carefully then answer the questions that follow it by
writing the letter of the correct answer in the answer sheet provided.
Scientists have learnt a great deal about malaria – carrying mosquitoes. The only
importance of the male is the part it plays in helping to produce the young mosquitoes. He
is smaller and weaker sex. He feeds not on blood but on plant liquid and lives only about a
week. The average lifetime of a female is about a month during which she has a life of
fifteen seconds. The eggs go through four development stages and finally the small
mosquito appears. They only wait for their wings to be strong enough before they fly off in
search of food.
Not until 1940 however, did wiping out of Malaria from the world finally became possible A
Swiss Scientific discovered a drug popularly known as DDT which killed most of insect
which touched it.
D.D.T. and other sprays made it possible for the world Health organization (W.H.O)
to declare total war on mosquitoes. Most of these insects bite human being while in doors
having fed herself on blood a female can fly on a short distance before resting and usually
lands on the wall or an object in the room not very high up. If the area has been sprayed
with one of the long lasting sprays like D.D.T., the poison enters her system and she soon
dies. Even if the person she fed upon suffered from malaria. She will be dead long before
the end of the ten to fifteen days required to make to infect another person.
If all the mosquitoes that have fed on blood of malaria, - victims die before they can
make people ill malaria ends. The disease seldom remains in human blood for more than
three years. A nation wide programmed of spraying every inside wall of every house in
every place where mosquitoes can breed should over a period of four or five years result in
the end of malaria.
Such spraying is a huge task. It requires good organization to say nothing of
money. Nevertheless several nation wide programed has been successfully carried out
and other are now in progress. In Tanzania the largest yet attempt is in the city
of Dar es Salaam and Morogoro region.

The government main objectives for the development of health service have been to

1. You have been provide with specimens S1, S2 and S3, a beaker, test tube and the table of
reagent, Use them to carry out the experiments instructed in (i) – (ix), then answer the
questions that follow .
(i) Take specimen S2, peel it to remove the outer cover and cut it into small pieces
(ii) Take a little amount of peeling specimen S2 and grid Specimen S2 by using a mortar
and pestle to obtain the paste.
(iii) Put the paste in a beaker and then add 30ml of water and steer a mixture.
(iv) Put 2ml of solution contain from Specimen S2 into the test tube.
(v) Add 2ml of Benedicts solution into the test tube contain solution S2 and boil the
content
(vi) Add 1ml of dilute hydrochloric acid into the test tube contain solution S2 and boil the
mixture, After cooling, add 2mil of sodium hydroxide solution slowly until the fizzing
stops followed by 2mil of Benedicts solution and boiling the mixture again.
(vii) Cut the specimen S1 into two equal halves. Add two drops of Iodine solution on side
of the Cut Surface.
(viii) By using Scalpel Cut the Specimen S3 into equal halves, Take one the halves and
squeeze into the beaker.
(ix) Add 1mil of sodium hydroxide solution into the test tube, Followed by 2-3 drops of
copper Sulphate solution while shaking the mixture.

(a) Heat some water in a beaker to boiling point and then turn off the source of heat.
(b) Use forceps of dip the leaf in hot water for about 30 seconds.
(c) Remove the leaf from hot water.
(d) Then push the leaf into bottom of the test tube and cover it with methylated sprit /
alcohol.
(e) Place the tube in hot water until the alcohol boils together with the leaf.
(f) Remove the leaf from the test tube containing ethanol and deep it into hot water.
(g) Spread the decolorized leaf on a white tile and pour few drops Iodine solution on it.

1. The aim of this experiment is to determine the acceleration due to gravity, g, by means of a
pendulum bob, B
1.1 Tie a thread to the given pendulum bob. Make a knot at a short distance from the
bob. This distance should be of the order of 10cm. Measure and record the distance,
b, between the knot N and the pendulum bob B.
The distance between the knot N and the point of suspension Y is denoted by X as
indicated in Fig 1. Adjust X to be 10cm. Displace the pendulum by a small angle and
then release it so that it swings to and fro with a small amplitude of vibration. Find
the time t for 30 oscillations and hence determine the periodic time T for one
oscillation.
1.2 Repeat this process for the values of X = 30 ,50, 70 and 90cm
1.3 Tabulate the values of X, t, T and T2
(a) Plot a graph of T2 against X
(b) Find the slope of your graph
(c) Calculate a value of the acceleration, g, due to gravity

2. You are provided with a switch K, an ammeter A, the variable resistor P, unknown resistor
R, voltmeter V and a battery E.
(a) Connect a switch, variable resistor, unknown resistor and an ammeter in series with
a battery. Connect voltmeter across the unknown resistor R.
(b) Close the switch K and adjust the rheostat by sliding slowly from one end, read and
record the value V of the voltmeter and current of the ammeter.
(c) Repeat the experiment by changing the rheostat slider to obtain about five pair of
readings.
NB: Adjust the rheostat until when the pointer is exactly on the division of the
metre scale.

1. The aim of this experiment is to determine the acceleration due to gravity, g, by
simple pendulum.
Proceed as follow:
(a) Using a pointer, place a reference mark at the equilibrium position of the bob. Set
the bob to oscillate through a small angle and begin counting the number of
oscillations through the equilibrium position of the bob. Find the time for 30
complete oscillations.
(b) Measure the length, , of the thread from the point of suspension to the point of
attachment of the bob and record the result in metres (m).
(c) By raising the thread each time, shorten the length of the pendulum by about 10cm,
20cm, 30cm and 40cm.
(d) On each occasion, find the length of the thread in metres and the time for 30
complete oscillations. Tabulate your results
(e) Plot the graph of against T2, where T is the period of the oscillations related by
the equation: and c is the small constant length from the point of
attachment of the bob to the centre of gravity of the bob.
(f) Determine the acceleration due to gravity, g.

2. You are provided with a dry cell E, switch K, an ammeter A, resistance box R and several
pieces of connecting wires.
Proceed as follows:
(a) Connect a dry cell E, switch K, an ammeter A and resistance box R in series.
(b) Draw a well labelled diagram of your circuit you connected.
(c) Using the resistance box adjust R so that it is 1 . Put the switch, K ON and
immediately read and records the current , in the circuit. Switch OFF.
(d) Repeat the procedure in 2(c) for the values of R equal to 2 , 4 ,5 , and 6
(e) Tabulate the values of R, and
(f) Plot the graph of R against

(g) Determine the slope, p from your graph.
(h) Disconnect R from the circuit and connect the wire, W in place of it. Switch ON and

2. The procedure.
a) Laying and Cutting out.
i. Place the pattern pieces A, B, and C on the fabric as shown on the layout
ii. Cut out the Skirt front, skirt back and yoke.
b) Making Up
(i) Make the back dart
(ii) Prepare the gather on the Skirt front piece
(iii) Attach a yoke piece to the Skirt front piece using a neatened overlaid seam.
(iv) Make a neatened open seam at the side.
(v) Prepared the skirt hem and slip hemming it
NOTE: Pressing should be done at all stages in the making process.
