Before you take your sit class, I want you to pick all the pieces of
paper that you see, and arrange your chair properly.

2. Checking of attendance How are you today?

Now, let us check the attendance. Who is absent for today?

3. Checking of assignment
Last time, I gave you an assignment, right?

4. Energizer I see that some of you are little bit sleepy, so lets have some
energizer first. Everybody please stand up and lets all dance.

A. Reviewing Previous Lesson Before we proceed to our next lesson, lets do some recap first. What
or Presenting New Lesson is our previous lesson? Maam. Our previous lesson is all about crop diseases.

Activity 1: “2 PICS, 1 WORD!”
Before we proceed to our discussion, we will have our activity first
entitled “2 PICS, 1 WORD!” I will flash the pictures on the screen
and base on it, you have to identify what word it pertaining. Do you

Maam! Based on our activity, I think our topic for today is all about
the insects.
Exactly, you guess it right! Our topic for today is all about the Parts
of an Insect.
Before we proceed, I have here our objectives for today!

Unlocking of Difficulties
Class, in this lesson there are some unfamiliar words that we will
encounter as we go along with our discussion.

Thorax- the region between the abdomen inferiorly and the root of
the neck superiorly.
Hind Wing- the posterior wings of a 4-winged insect.
Compound Eye- an eye consisting of hundreds or thousands of tiny
light-sensitive parts (called ommatidia).
Antenna- paired sensory organs on the heads of insects.

proceed in identify the examples of it. But before that, lets have an
activity first.

Activity # 2 : LET YOUR GROUP DEFINE YOUR WORK!


D. Discussing new concept and
DIRECTION: The students will be divided into 3 groups. Group 1
practicing new skill #1
will identify the parts of an insect. Group 2 will going to arrange the
rumbled picture of an insect. Group 3 will going to draw the missing
part of the insect. After the students finished there work, they have
to paste it on the board and choose 1 representative to briefly
explain there work. 2 minutes will be given for this activity. Yes Maam!

Now, lets identify the examples of an insect.


Ma’am! Mosquito and ants.
Who wants to give an example of insect that you know? Anyone?

Ma’am, bugs and grasshoppers.


Very good! How about the others? Any idea?

Exactly! All of the examples that you gave is correct.


Lets identify the examples of insects further more through an
observation using this improvise material. I prepare a paper
flashlight for you to see the insects and lets name it one by one.

What is the name of insect number 1? Fly ma’am.

Very good. How about number 2?

Alright. That is a shield bug to be specific.


How about the last picture? Maam! That’s a lady bug.

For you to further understand the structure of an insect. I have here a
specimen. You can observe it. Pass it one by one, I will give you 2
minutes.

I have here a corn plant structure. The students flip the picture

and created a dance step for you. The title of the song is
“Identifying Insect Parts!” I will teach you the step, I will sing it

identifying the parts of insect?
G. APPLICATION It is very important because it help us identify if the object is insect or
not.

Okey very good answer. And how will you apply it to your daily Knowing the parts of insects can apply to our daily living as
life? agriculture students everytime we go to our farm or garden in a way
that we can identify if the objects that we see are insects or not.

Application of Concept and
Skills in Daily Living
Correct! If we know the parts, its easy for us to identify if it is an
insect or not. Like in real life situation, if we know how to identify
the characteristics of a person we can say if he or she is a good
person or not. One real life scenario is finding a good friend, if you
know how to identify a good person, then you will find a genuine
friend.
