place
1. At (tại)
- at dùng khi nói về 1 vị trí tương đối
Ví dụ: at the airport (ở sân bay), at school (ở trường)
- at + số nhà
Ví dụ:
She works at 13 Vong Street. (Cô ấy làm việc tại nhà số 13 Phố Vọng.)
- at có thể được dùng trước 1 sự kiện để ám chỉ nơi diễn ra sự kiện đó
Ví dụ: at the party (tại bữa tiệc), at the grand opening (tại buổi khai trương)
- at còn được dùng trong 1 số cụm: at work (tại nơi làm việc), at sea (ở trên biển),
at the top (ở phía trên), at the bottom (ở phía dưới), at the corner of the street (ở
góc đường)...
2. In (ở trong)
- Dùng in với 1 không gian khép kín hoặc được bao quanh
Ví dụ: in the house (trong nhà), in the car (trong xe), in the water (trong nước)
- Dùng in với không gian có biên giới
Ví dụ: in the world (trên thế giới), in Vietnam (ở Việt Nam), in the city (trong thành phố),
in a park (trong công viên)
- in a row/in a line (trong hàng)
- in bed (trên giường)
- in prison (trong tù)
- in the middle (ở giữa)
- in the corner of the room (ở trong góc phòng)
3. On (ở trên)
- Dùng để diễn tả 1 vật ở trên 1 vật
khác. Giữa chúng có sự tiếp xúc với
nhau.
Ví dụ: 
on the table/desk (trên bàn), on the wall
(ở trên tường), on the floor (ở trên sàn
nhà)
He put his books on the desk. (Cậu ấy
đặt những quyển sách của mình lên
bàn.)
- on the left (ở phía bên trái)
- on the right (ở phía bên phải)
- on a farm (ở trang trại)
4. Under (ở dưới)
Ví dụ: 
The dog is under the table. (Con chó ở dưới cái bàn.)
5. Between (ở giữa)
Ví dụ: 
I am standing between my brother and sister. (Mình đang đứng giữa anh trai và
chị gái mình.)

6. In front of (ở trước)

Ví dụ: 
The tree in front of the house is dying. (Cây trước nhà đang lụi tàn dần.)

10. Behind (ở đằng sau)

Ví dụ: 
Do you know the girl behind the door? (Bạn có biết cô gái đằng sau cánh cửa
không?)
13. Near (gần)
Ví dụ: 
My school is near a park. (Trường mình gần 1 công viên.)

11. Next to (bên cạnh)

Ví dụ:
The bakery is next to the bookstore. (Tiệm bánh ở bên cạnh hiệu sách.)
