LEARNING OBJECTIVE By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. Read about charity shops, car boot sales and swap shops.
2. Talk about shopping habits in their country
ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON Teacher highlights the information in the Fact box and writes
charity on the board. Teacher checks that students understand the
meaning (a charity is an organization to which you give money so
that it can give money and help people who are poor or ill, or who
need help and support). Teacher elicits from the class different
charities, eg the Red Cross.
LESSON DELIVERY Activity 1 (SB page 66)
1. Students work in pairs and ask and answer the questions.
Teacher listens to their ideas as a class.
Activity 2 (SB page 66)
1. Teacher check students understand the task. Teacher
plays the CD. Students listen and follow the text in the
books> they write the answer in their notebooks. Teacher
checks the answer as a class.
Activity 3 (SB page 66)
1. Students read the questions carefully first. They look in
the text and find the answers. They compare answers in
pairs. Teacher check answers as a class.
Activity 4( SB page 66)
1. Teacher puts students into pairs and ask them to discuss
the questions
2. Teacher listens to their ideas as a class.
