3. Using the globe, where is the Northern Hemisphere? Southern Hemisphere? Southern is below the equator
4. How will you describe the lines of latitude? Show the lines of latitude on the globe. 4. The lines of latitude are the line parall to the equator that
5. What is the starting point for latitude? How are latitudes being measured from the runs North-South.
North Pole? South Pole? 5. The equator is the starting point. They are measured in
6. The globe does not show all lines of latitude. If you wish to find 500N, where should terms of degrees. From 00-900 of the North Pole and

4. 33 degrees South latitude, 151 degrees East longitude 5. China
5. 40 degrees North latitude, 116 degrees East longitude

H. Making  Using the picture below, describe the lines of latitude and lines of longitude.
generalizations &  Latitude is an angle which ranges from 0 degree at the
abstractions about equator to 90 degree (North or South) at the poles. Lines
the lesson of latitude are parallel to each other, thus they are often
referred to as parallels.

 Longitudes is the angular distance of a point east-west

of the Prime (Greenwhich) Meridian. Lines of longitude
are termed as meridians.

I. Evaluating EVALUATE
Learning  Provide the “Where in the World” worksheet as longitude and latitude practice  Where in the World worksheet answers:
1. Cuba
2. Germany
3. India
4. Argentina
5. South Africa
6. Japan
7. Egypt
8. Australia
Riddle Answer: A Road Map
J. Additional EXTEND Create a Coordinate BINGO game. Provide a list of 24 country names around the world for
activities for which you have coordinates. Have the students write the name of each country in a block on
application or their BINGO game card. Then call out coordinates of one of the 24 countries. Players X the
remediation name of the country that matches those coordinates. The first player to get five Xs in a row is
