Culture
In Anthropology, the term culture labels two referents: first, the term
“culture” labels the products of high civilization such as art and
literature; second: it labels "the distinctive characteristics of human
history and existence". In other words, it describes everything relating
to human existence including customs, ideas, material objects, and other
things which accumulate to form a body of practices that represent man's
adaptation to the natural environment.

the term refers to a phenomenon shared by all humans.

In the context of the particularity of each human group's response to
their environment, Robert Bartley Taylor defines culture as "the sum
total of the sets of similar individual traits manifested by the members
of a society. Those sets of individual customs are called cultural traits,
and within any culture they are linked and interrelated with one another
to form the whole culture". Taylor's definition means that the
individuals within each culture have similar traits which accumulate to
form the culture to which these individuals belong.

The two words “ushanaka" and “taqshita" have no direct equivalents in
English because they are specific to the language of the people who use
the items that these words label. The translator cannot simply choose a
ready equivalent and may resort to the use of various strategies when
translating these words into English whose choice may depend on
several factors including the translator's aim or his or her expectations
about the knowledge and needs of the target audience of the translation.

Idioculture
An ideoculture is a subculture within a subculture. Within the same
Egyptian city (which is an example of a subculture), there are people who
live in different neighbourhoods and who do not necessarily share the
same values or mode of thought or may use different words when
referring to the same thing. An example is the "mahraganāt/ "مهرجانات
which are digitally produced songs that are usually made and sung by
performers from poor neighbouhoods (usually in Cairo and Alexandria).

In addition to these categories; proper names are also culture-specific.
Furthermore, the allusions to these cultural components and terms pose
a real challenge to the translator and give rise to similar problems.
Therefore, allusions to proper names of important figures or incidents
are also culture-specific, given that their meanings cannot be figured out
from the context alone.

Anthropologists were aware of the importance of the role that the
natural habitat plays in the ways of life of human groups; therefore, they
established "cultural ecology". Cultural ecology investigates the ways in
which people adopt to their habitat as well as the ways in which culture
and environment affect each other.

Although the Nile passes through nine African countries, it is usually

A social organization or institution is a group of people which is
considered as a system regulated by a number of laws and conventions.
Social organizations include religious, political and administrative
organizations. Newmark also lists artistic members of a certain

Language-Related Elements
There is a kind of interrelatedness between language and culture which
makes it impossible to distinguish between both concepts. Language is a
cultural product which plays a vital communicative role within the life
of the members of any given community.

Taylor states that the importance of the linguistic system stems from the
fact that it reflects "the relationship between language and the way its
speakers view their total environment". He also explains that the way
people view their culture is reflected in their linguistic utterances; that
is why meta-linguistics is now considered a branch of linguistic
anthropology and of cultural studies.
