(Sessions 1 and 2)
I. Target Competencies
At the end of the module, the student will be able to:
1. Practice the skills learned in this course with few observable er-
rors in techniques
2. Execute with confidence the fundamental skills in folk dancing
3. Understand the rules, convections and terminology in Folk Danc-
ing by using them during the execution of skills.
4. Perform the warm-up, stretching and cool down exercise properly
and on your own.
5. Determine your dancing level and identify areas for improvement.
6. Be open to criticism when a peer is evaluating your performance,
and at the same time, be critical and fair when evaluating others.
7. Promote Folk Dancing as a physical activity of the family.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Philippine Folk Dances with Asian Influence
Reference: DepEd K-12 MAPEH Grade 8
Materials: Manila Paper, chalk and board. Cardboard images.

III. Learning Tasks (4A’s)


A. Activity
. Prepare miniature boy and girl dancers made of cartolina and post them on
the board. Create different regional costumes in the Philippines using pens
and colors.
Analysis
Let the students collaborate on the techniques, partner selection and
organization regarding the execution of the activity.
B. Abstraction
 After sharing their insights introduce to the class the Lesson by playing videos
showing the history, origin and basic steps of Binislakan
 Conduct a warm-up exercise and demonstrate the fundamental skills using
videos.

 Review about Session 1 and 2. Call on some students to demonstrate the
fundamental skills used in the Lesson
 Let the students watch and learn by themselves the steps of the selected folk
dances.
