1. Câu khẳng định

S + am/ is/ are + Ving

 I + am + V_ing
Công thức  He/ She/ It/ Danh từ số ít/ Danh từ không đếm được
+ is + V_ing
 You/ We/ They/ Danh từ số nhiều + are + V_ing

- I am studying Math now. (Tôi đang học toán.)

- She is talking on the phone. (Cô ấy đang nói chuyện trên

điện thoại.)

Ví dụ - We are preparing for our parents’ wedding anniversary.

(Chúng tôi đang chuẩn bị cho lễ kỷ niệm ngày cưới của bố
mẹ.)

- The cat is playing with some toys. (Con mèo đang chơi
với mấy thứ đồ chơi.)

. Động từ có kết thúc bằng chữ “e”

 Động từ có kết thúc bằng một chữ “e” ta bỏ “e” và thêm đuôi
“ing”

Ví dụ: Write → writing: viết, come → coming: đến

 Động từ có kết thúc bằng 2 chữ e. Ta vẫn giữ nguyên trạng

thái và thêm đuôi “ing”

Ví dụ: See → seeing: nhìn, agree → agreeing: đồng ý, free →

freeing: giải phóng
 - Động từ có 1 âm tiết và kết thúc bằng “nguyên âm + phụ
âm” trừ h, w, x, y, ta chỉ việc nhân đôi phụ âm và thêm “ing”.

Ví dụ: Stop → stopping: dừng lại, get → getting: nhận, lấy, cut →
cutting: cắt

Lưu ý: Các động từ được kết thúc bằng h, w, x, y thì ta chỉ việc
thêm “ing” vào sau phụ âm

Ví dụ: Know → knowing: hiểu, biết, say → saying: nói, draw

→ drawing: vẽ tranh, reach → reaching: đat được

- Với động từ kết thúc là “ie” thì ta đổi ie thành y và thêm

đuôi “ing”

Ví dụ: Lie → lying: nói dối, die → dying: chấm dứt cuộc đời

Lưu ý: có những động từ ngoại lệ, kết thúc “y” nhưng vẫn giữ
nguyên và thêm “ing”.

Ví dụ: Carry → carrying: mang, study → studying: học hỏi, nghiên

cứu

2. Câu phủ định

Công thức S + am/are/is + not + Ving

Chú ý is not = isn’t

(Viết tắt) are not = aren’t

Ví dụ - I am not cooking dinner. (Tôi đang không nấu bữa tối.)

- He is not (isn’t) feeding his dogs. (Anh ấy đang không cho

những chú chó cưng ăn.)

- Be careful! I think they are lying. (Cẩn thận đấy! Tôi nghĩ
 họ đang nói dối.)

3. Câu nghi vấn

a. Câu nghi vấn sử dụng trợ động từ (Câu hỏi Yes/ No)

 Q: Am/ Is/ Are + S + Ving?

      No, S + am/is/are + not.
 Q: Are you taking a photo of me? (Bạn đang chụp
Ví dụ ảnh tôi phải không?)

 A: Yes, I am.

 b. Câu nghi vấn sử dụng từ hỏi bắt đầu bằng Wh-

Dấu hiệu nhận biết

Trạng từ chỉ now (bây giờ)

 at the moment (ngay lúc này)

at present (hiện tại)

It’s + giờ cụ thể + now

Ví dụ: It’s 12 o’clock now. (Bây giờ là 12 giờ.)

Look!/ Watch! (Nhìn kìa)

Listen! (Nghe này!)

Keep silent! (Hãy giữ im lặng!)

Watch out! = Look out! (Coi chừng!)
