MINUTES OF THE FIRST LAC SESSION

SLAC Facilitator: Dr. Jhimson V. Cabral, Ph.D Teacher III
Invitees: All Teaching Personnel in JHS
Call to Order:
Dr. Anacleto M. Gunio, Principal IV of Buhaynasapa Integrated National High
School initiated a SLAC last September 30, 2022, at 1:00 o`clock in the
afternoon. The said SLAC was about the Pedagogical approaches on how the
teachers make effective and efficient in teaching learning process.
Attendance:
teaching personnel attended the LAC Session. Please see attached signed
attendance.
LAC Agenda:
Amplifying the Use of Kto12 Pedagogical Approaches in Delivering Instruction
in the New Normal
I. Reports:
The LAC session is focused on Pedagogical approaches to the teaching
learning process. Sir Gunio said that we need to refresh and we need to
construct knowledge of instruction. The 21 century skills need to develop not only
for the teacher, but also for the learners.
Dr. Jhimson V. Cabral our very own, was the speaker for this session. He
shared his expertise and knowledge to JHS teachers for better them to
understand the use of different pedagogies of teaching . He provided the
teachers with a comprehensive explanation of every aspect of the
aforementioned LAC session using a powerpoint presentation. His presentation
contain the Pedagogical approaches and strategies in teaching, the significance,
and WLP in utilizing instructional pedagogy.

Importance of Pedagogy in Teaching
 Improves the quality of teaching
 Encourages cooperative learning environment
 Eliminates monotonous learning
 Improves learning autonomy
 Provides convenient and inclusive learning
 Improves teacher-student communication
Pedagogy demands classroom interaction between teacher and
studentswhich creates impac on students` development
TPACK-(Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge-of teachers
must be considered to make teaching and learning meaningful
Transfer of Learning is always in the application part of the lesson
The first step to apply the pedagogical aaproaches in teaching is through
lesson planning
In lesson planning use the IDEA instructional process
 Introduction-Introduces MELCs and desired learning outcomes
 Development- activities and content that will allow the learners master
the skill stated in the MELCs
 Engagement-make the learners more engaged in various tasks that
build their KSAs
 Assimilation-allow learners to demonstrate learning in context and
situation/application of learning

 Learners relate their experiences with the topic and/or learning content
 Learners to be actively engaged in constructing new meaning based on
their past and current knowledge
 Create motivating conditions in teaching-learning process
 Provide problem-based situation for critical thinking
 Offer lessons that focuses on the process rather than product
Collaborative Approach
 Allow learners to work in groups to solve problems,complete a task
and/or create a product appropriate to the learning content
 Consider learner`s need,their learning styles and views in learning in
designing tasks and activities
 Provide learners the opportunity to explore and apply the course
material
 Encourage learners to share their insights and ideas related o the topic
to produce valuable outputs and yield possible outcomes
 Design activities that will allow the learners to socialize and interact
with their classmates
Integrative Approach
 Allow learners to make connections and relate their own learning to
their other subjects
 Encourage students to utilize and practice their skills acquired from
other learning areas in exploring the topic
 Expose learners to activities to different tasks while considering their
learning styles and interests
 Provide simulation related to the context and the real world
 Incorporate ICT and other resources in teaching
Inquiry-Based Approach
 Encourage learners to investigate,build their understanding and create
meaning on a certain topic/content

II. Adjournment:
The LAC Session was meaningfully and successfully , the LAC was adjourned
at 4:00 PM.
