We make a step into a period of a great turmoil

I’m a ukrainian woman. I express personally (on my behalf), that what I really
think, what I encourage to do all conscious citizens of my country. We are not to
be afraid of expressing what we really think. Though, it’s crucial to think
independently, without other’s views influence, not to rely on thoughts that are not
foolproof, that is a great effort to make and it demands a high concentration.

These days we have to face with the overkill of information too hard for realizing,
because it belongs to the innovated digital civilization. Consequently, our attention
is dispersed, that prevents us to think independently and does not gives a
possibility to concentrate on our own thoughts. Hovewer, if we don’t struggle,
there is a threat that we will face a tragic collapse.

Actually, many countries are tend to this situation. That is what we may call a
general civilization crisis. In such authentic democratic states as the USA, there
are special techniques like a ‘’foolproof’’, that may work there but in our country
it won’t. In Ukraine the democracy is not of such a high level.

All the world has faced a great turmoil. And we can’t just stop and rewind. We
have to go forward despite all difficulties and preventions.

Our country has a future. Ukraine has many traumas and great tragedies in past and
a post traumatic stress disorder as well. I highly believe (as I’m an optimist) that
we are strong enough to protect our country, to survive as a nation and to build
that kind of country that we really deserve taking into account the sacrifice of our
sons and daughters.

Although, we have to fasten the belts and to stop thinking like children but to
think reasonably and rationally, as adults who are conscious of the threatening
reality. It is essential for us to stick together against all the threats and troubles. We
still haven’t reconsidered our history till the end as we have just learnt to speak
aloud about the tragedies we faced in twentieth century.

П’ять правил дипломатії (деякі з них вас здивують)

Правило №1 Приносьте власні бутерброди

Взагалі-то вам ніколи не запропонують обід. Не кожна нація має бюджет щоб
, балувати своїх людей і змащувати переговори бренді і вином. Великі
делегації зможуть дістати їжу. Добре розвинуті країни постараються дістати
усі закуски, які ви зможете дістати у кафе, в іншому випадку, ви можете
залишитися голодними.

Правило № 2 Використовуйте правильну мову

Історично склалося, що перша мова дипломатів була більше Латинська, ніж
французька і після на початку 20 століття з народженням послідовного та
синхронного переклад, Англійська була зведена до рівню мови дипломатів.
Вона має багато французьких запозичень, таких як демарш (протест),
комюнике (повідомлення) і ряд кліше як чесний обмін думками, плідне
співробітництво. Іноді дипломати можуть потрапити у халепу
спровокувавши велику суперечку каверзними фразами як ‘’копатися у
брудній білизні‘’ .

Правило № 3 Будьте чарівними але будьте твердими (сильними)

Вам потрібна міцна голова, міцний шлунок, ясний погляд, тепла посмішка,
холодний погляд. Ви маєте бути спритним і маєте слідувати політичним
інструкціям. Ви зобов’язані мати чіткий, ясний погляд на те де лежать
національні інтереси вашої країни. Допитливість, здатність до адаптації,
вміння розуміти і піддавати сумніву, холоднокровність і звичайно відвага є
також важливими якостями.

Правило № 4 Будьте чесними але не занадто відвертими

Брехня це не найкрайщий вибір. Але не кажіть усе що маєте на думці.

Пам’ятайте, де лежать інтереси вашої країни .

Правило № 5 Будьте французом

Будьте дипломатичними як французькі чиновники. Не брешіть, тому що ви

будете спіймані, брехня буде кинута вам в обличчя, і ваша репутація як
людини надійної і доброчесної буде зруйнована. Будьте твердим, але не
прогинайтеся під вашого опонента і будьте готові пристосуватися і будьте
спритними. П’ять простих шагів до дипломатичного успіху, слідуйте їм і
просто доведете Що Вінстон Черчиль мав рацію. Дипломатія, він казав, це
мистецтво посилати людей в пекло, але таким чином, ніби вас питають про
напрямок.

Linguistic problems of diplomacy

Linguistic problems of diplomacy may be caused by many factors: numerous false

friends of translator, a great number of official languages, lexical and semantic
variants of one language, inconsistencies of connotative word meanings, diversity
and difficulty of materials for translation, lack of proficiency among translators.
Sometimes diplomats misapprehend (overestimate) their level of speaking
language of the country, where they work. Inaccurate word may lead to great
troubles. Questions and answers must be accurate and reasoning.

In 1919 English and French were acknowledged as official languages, and the
same year the profession of diplomatic affairs translator appeared. At first a
consecutive translation was used. The work of translator in diplomacy is very
tense(stressful). The goal of a translator to express a sequence of arguments, from
premises to conclusions. Sometimes the translator is required only to summarize. It
is possible only on the assumption of intelligent analysis of material. The
requirements the translator must correspond are language proficiency, having
capacity to use a wide range of topics, a capability to make a readjustment in
topics, ability a quick mental grasp, avoiding stage fright, not to lose self-control,
to understand the connotation. Requirements for simultaneous interpreters are
especially high.
