B. REVIEW

Last time, we discussed about physical

activity and exercises.
So, as a review in our previous Ma’am physical activity is bodily
lesson, what is physical activity? movement produced by skeletal muscles.
It requires energy expenditure and
produce progressive health benefits. It
requires only a low to moderate intensity
of effort. It implies a level of activity that
is lower than required to maintain good.
Okay, very good!

How about exercise?

Ma’am exercise is a type of physical
activity that requires planned structured
and repetitive bodily movement to
maintain one or more components of
physical fitness.

Very good. Will you please give Ma’am swimming, running, aerobics,

C. MOTIVATION

Now, before we proceed to our lesson,

first, let’s have a game. This is called

Good. All you need to do is to convert the
numbers to it’s corresponding letters in
the Alphabet to guess the hidden words.

For example,

Group 2 : River

Group 3: Bridge

In order for you to pass your

task.

Do you understand?

Skills used to move the body from one
place to another.

So what is locomotor skills? Locomotor skills are movements that

Now, I have here several examples of

locomotor skills.

Kindly read the first one. Step- The transfer of weight from

by both of your foot alternately in any
direction.
Run- series of walk executed
quickly in any direction wherein only one
foot stays in the ground while the other is
off the ground.
Jump – having both foot loose
contact with the ground.

Step, walk, run and jump ma’am.

Kindly read the first

(The teacher will call a students to read

and demonstrate each movements.) Flexion – it is the act of decreasing
the angle of a joint. Another term of
flexion is to bend.
Extension – this is the opposite of
flexion. You are extending if you are
increasing the angle of joint. Stretching is
another word for extension.
Rotation – to rotate is to move a
bodily segment allowing it to complete a
circle with its motion. It’s not only
limited to circumduction which is done in
ball and socket joints. Rotation can also
be done in wrists, waists, and ankles.
Twist – to move a body segment
from an axis halfway front or back on
quarter to the right and left.

Very good! Again, what are the examples

of non-locomotor skills? Flexion, extension, rotation and twist

Excellent!

roulettes contains movement of
locomotor and non-locomotor skills.
Each group will have one representative
to spin the roulette of both locomotor and
non-locomotor movement. They will use
the movement to form a dance routine in
the tune of Agadoo.

In this activity, I will be graded your
