I. OBJECTIVES
a. Define percentage
b. Visualize percent and its relationship to fractions, ratios, and decimal numbers using models;
c. Identify the percentage, ratio,, fraction and decimal in a given problem;

b. Reference: Quarte 3 – Module 1, Lesson 1
c. Materials: Modules, PowerPoint, Video presentation

III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

A. Preparatory Activities:

1. Review:
 The teacher will give an activity to review their past lesson and relate it to the new
topic.
(Refer to Quarter 3-Module 1, page 3))

B. Presentation/Introduction
 The teacher with give an activity to activate the prior knowledge of the pupils about
percentage.
 The teacher will display a store sale advertisements or other similar flyers showing % off
prices and then ask students if they know what “percent” means.

C. Analysis and Discussion

 The teacher will guide the pupils to understand the lesson.


 Changing Percent to Fraction
 Changing Percent to Ratio
 Changing Percent to Decimal

 Key Points: A percent is a ratio of a number to 100. It is represented by the symbol “%”.
 It was in the 15th century when the idea of percent began. It came from the Latin word,
“per centum “ which means “ for every hundred”.
D. Guided Practice

• The teacher will say: To deepen your understanding of percent, you are now ready for the next
activities.

➢ Directions: Write the ratio, decimal and percent equivalent of each picture. Write your
answer on a sheet of paper.
(Refer to Quarter 3-Module 1, page 8)

➢ Directions: Fill in the missing words to complete the meaning. Choose your answer
from the choices given inside the box. Copy and answer on a sheet of paper.
