TABLE OF CONTENTS

Life is an uncertain roller coaster. You can choose to embrace it and enjoy the
ride, joyfully learning from your experiences along the way; or you can choose
to rebel against all of life’s challenges, resenting every moment of your journey.
The latter robs you of any growth or development, while the former gives you
the opportunity to learn from those challenges and become a better person for
having experienced them.

Here are 3 common challenges in life you must overcome on your road to
becoming a better person:

1. Living away from home

1.1. Actual situation

“Home is where the heart is”. Do you understand this quote? A common
interpretation of this quote is that your home will always be the place for which
you feel the deepest affection, no matter where you are. People say that life
changes after marriage, but according to me, life changes when you leave home
for studies. Leaving home for studies and going to another city means that your
parents, friends, and loved ones all will be left. Although there are many charms
of the hostel world but challenges as well. Here, we will highlight all those
challenges:
1.1.1. Homesick
For most students, this is your first time living away from home for a long time.
So homesickness can be an obstacle students need to overcome. You can be

4
happy all day, but before you go to bed, you still feel lonely when you are in a
strange room with no family beside you.
1.1.2. Trap in life
Living away from home is a life of freedom but it is always associated with
pitfalls. The pitfalls here are not necessarily drugs, alcohol, gambling ... but
sometimes it's so simple that you may be stuck without even realizing it. It's
competition, it's passive lifestyle, enjoyment, laziness in studying and working,
unhealthy thoughts and actions… Just those little things but they can lead to
huge mistakes. Students should create self-disciplined study habits because
when going to university, there will be no parents around to supervise and
remind us to go to school on time.
1.1.3. Financial problems
Living away from home and managing food, clothes, hostel dues all are the
biggest challenges for a jobless student. These problems also lower the energy
of a student. He always thinks about managing these things, and it wastes their
precious time of study. Some students also meet all these requirements to start
part-time jobs during their studies. So, overall the life of a student living away
from home is tough as compared to the student living with their parents.
1.2. Solution
1.2.1. Give yourself time
Do not push yourself – have a good rest after the relocation, relax, and allow
yourself to be sad for the things you left behind. Call your pals and your family
just to hear their voices and draw strength from their love. Take your time and
find your peace. Slowly, but surely, you’ll get accustomed to your new
surroundings, will regain your balance and your motivation, and overcome your
nostalgia.
1.2.2. Make your new place your sanctuary.
Arrange your new place to your liking. It is also a good idea to arrange some of
your things in the same way as they were in your old home – this will create a
feeling of familiarity and warmth in your new place.
1.2.3. Enjoy your new life

Get to know your new city, explore your new surroundings, get involved in the
community life, join clubs, organizations, or sporting teams to partake in
activities you enjoy, make new friends, and take advantage of every new
opportunity that presents itself.

2. Unfair in life
2.1. Actual situation
5
Like or not, you have to admit that there are always unfair things in life. Here
are some normal things about life that seem enormously unfair:

2.1.1 People are much more likely to help, work and interact with people they
know.

In some cases, favoritism plays a major role in family relationships. People are
more likely to help family and friends in some situations. Whether it’s running
errands or helping them find jobs, it’s more likely to happen as a result of their
relationships. We like to think that choosing who to interact and work with is
based on merit. It should be a fair system regardless of. But it doesn’t always
work that way. Some companies may prohibit employers from hiring family
members, but nepotism still exists to a larger degree today.

2.1.2. Rewards come through results, NOT on efforts

I always thought putting in much effort would get me to my end goals. But it
doesn’t always work that way. The amount of time and effort you put into a
business can be worthwhile. However, the results may not turn out what they’re
meant to be. If that’s the case, you won’t be rewarded. It’s important to note that
people don’t use your services because you’re a hard-working person. It’s based
on the quality and value of the services that will drive results in the end.

2.2. Solution
They people who handle unfairness well possess three things in common:
2.2.1. They think rationally before they act
2.2.2. They recognize the difference between what they can control and what
thay can’t
2.2.3. Think positively
To think positively, we need to be aware of and control the body's biological
response. The reason we suffer or be disappointed by injustices is driven by this
instinctive reaction, so it is important not to let it dictate our actions.

Instead of thinking "Why is life so unfair?", instead of blaming the situation or

letting go of it all, think more casually.

Or you can change your mind, your outlook on life, and constantly try: "In fact,
there is no such thing as injustice, everything happens according to its laws,
nothing happens without a reason. Just always try, one day, I will achieve my
dreams."

We cannot change the injustices that have occurred in the past, but we can limit
their effects in the present.

We cannot change the injustices that have occurred in our lives and in many
parts of the world, but we can support actions that prevent future injustice.
6
2.2.4. Stop complaining.
Jack Ma considers himself completely unwise, has failed many times, once
complained "Bill Gates, Larry Page ... They're doing a great job, so why don't
you get a chance?" Then he calmly reflected and he realized: "Successful people
are always looking to the future, never complaining, and always trying to solve
other people's problems. So where is the opportunity?". Opportunity is always
present. So "stop complaining" is also one of the ways for us to find justice.
3. The postponement
Procrastination is the habit of people who tend to slow down, postpone
themselves, avoid, do not want to start immediately to do a job, or have the
mentality to wait and let a while later to do that leads to that work being
stopped, delays are even forgotten.

3.1. Actual situation:

There's a project that needs you to finish your deadline, you're focusing on it.
Suddenly, you come up with the idea that you haven't surfed "Newsfeed" on
Facebook today to update the news right away. Spending about 20 minutes
browsing bored, you want to turn to Instagram, just want to see a few beautiful
photos. And finally, when you're tired, a movie will be your lifesaver and you'll
use it as a reason to delay your work for another session. In your opinion, that's
the right time to work.

Procrastination isn't always a bad thing. There are two different types of
procrastination: one is constructive, and the other is destructive. The first type
plays an extremely important role in any creative activity of knowledge, because
your brain needs time to rest to develop your imagination. But at the core of the
problem is that you still have to go back to work as normal. And the younger
generation like us is now reeling in a more destructive kind of procrastination.

 Harm:
Procrastination is the biggest cause of reduced productivity and work delays.
Procrastination not only reduces the level of completion of work, but also affects
personal income. The consequence of procrastination is that urgent work,
accumulated, becomes overloaded, unable to solve this effectively, making
people rush, work negligently, through speakers leading to many errors or
failure to meet quality and as a result, failure in busyness.

Procrastination affects both your mental and physical health. When you let
things pile up and pile up in the last few days, you will have to give up eating
and drinking, spend the night throughout the morning to finish them, and so be
very toxic. Besides, procrastination makes you always bored, tired, stressed,
affecting other aspects besides work in your life.

 Causes of procrastination among student’s include:

7
- Lack of motivation
- Low self-confidence
- Laziness
- Lack of understanding
- Trouble concentrating
- Perfectionism
- Low energy levels
- Poor organization skills
- Waiting for the right time
- Fear of difficulty
