THE ABSTRACT
The subject of this study is summarized in the online search
services which describes how information retrieved instantly from
the computerized databases & catalogues , where it be in local
databases or in (CD- ROMs) or on the Internet . The online search
services being distinguished due to the convergence between the
information & the telecommunication technologies that have made
many databases available in advance stage of multimedia which
added new elements of text , sound , image & animation .
The study is to display the integral organization process of tags &
attributes in the databases , then the electronic processing of data .
Besides , the search strategies applied for more efficiency in
retrieving information , & the use of boolean logic to tighten or
broaden search process & measure its impact on search results & the
good query formulation by following certain stages & procedures .
The study also emphases on the aspects of the administrative factors
of the search services such as planning the use of services , educating
& training users to attain more practical knowledge & to encourage
organizing training sessions . Acquiring knowledge about online
search is important for end users because it provide then with
information . Sometimes researchers are unaware of how to search ,
& they know nothing about the place of search itself . They have to
be aided by the information specialist . However the more they
practice , the more experience they well gain . Many information
services have been developed by the online search . The study
recommends designing a database to develop loan services within
(CDS / ISIS) .
The online search is available in many different databases in the
academic institutions accessible for the scientific research purposes .
In addition , text retrieval packages provide easy retrieval facilities
& good search strategies using the selection lists & the boolean
search tools . The increasing use of information technology enabled
users to interact with it & create anew promising social class known
as information society .
