Lesson Plan No: 03

Class: VII Section: A & B Subject: Mathematics Period: 2 & 3 Duration:50mins

Date:8/4/21 Day: Thursday

1. Lesson Topic: Divisibility Test

2. Lesson Objectives: At the end of the lesson, a child will be able to apply the divisibility rules for
4,5, 9, and 10 with few examples without teacher’s help.

3. Strategy to be used: Lecture, demonstration, concept building, problem solving, and ability
based learning.
4. TLM to be used: Textbook, chalk and chalkboard.
5. Life Skills/Values to be incorporated: individual difference, writing neat and clean.
6. Important Vocabulary need to learn: Multiples, factors, sum, product, tens, ones etc.
7. LESSON INTRODUCTION: Recap the concept learned in the previous lesson on divisibility
test on 2 and 3. Stress on the multiples concepts. Write the topic on the board.
Gaining attention: Clap hands. Ask them to sit straight by keeping everything on the desk.
8. LESSON DEVELOPMENT:
1. Divisible by 4:
A whole number is divisible by 4 if 2 x tens digits + ones digits is a multiple of 4.

Eg. 78, 2345, 2786, 123454(tr. will provide few examples and ask them whether the given number
can be divided by two or not. Put cross mark and tick mark to indicate the divisibility.

Activity (1): Ask children to write down few examples of their own and share it to the class. Copy
the notes from the board.

2. Divisible by 5
A whole number is divisible by 5 if the digit in ones is 0 or 5.

Eg. 75, 78, 340, 2145 ( tr. will provide few examples and ask them whether the given
number can be divided by two or not after getting the sum. Put a cross mark and tick mark to
indicate the divisibility).

Activity (2): Ask children to write down few examples of their own and share it to the class. Copy
the notes from the board.
3. Divisible by 9
A whole number is divisible by 9 if the sum of the digits is multiple of 9.

Eg. 856, 895, 785, 345, 984(tr. will provide few examples and ask them whether the given
number can be divided by two or not after getting the sum. Put a cross mark and tick mark to
indicate the divisibility).

Activity (3): Ask children to write down few examples of their own and share it to the class. Copy
the notes from the board.
4. Divisible by 10
A whole number is divisible by 10 if the digit in ones is 0.

Eg. 750, 785, 340, 2145 (tr. will provide few examples and ask them whether the given
number can be divided by two or not after getting the sum. Put a cross mark and tick mark to
indicate the divisibility).

Activity (4): Ask children to write down few examples of their own and share it to the class. Copy
the notes from the board.

9. Follow up Activity: write few examples on the board and make them to solve individually.

10. Home Assignment: Page 8: Question 2 & 3, Page 33: question 2.

11. LESSON CLOSURE: Revise the concepts once if the time permits. Check whether the lesson
objectives have been fulfilled or not.
