MINUTES FOR THE PICACHO HILLS LGA

November 30, 2023

The meeting was called to order by President Margie Herberger at 1:05 PM. Thirteen members were present.

President’s Remarks:
Survey Results
• In favor of eliminating Jill and points
• In favor of holding more weekend events
o Scheduled for Feb. 10, May 11, July 20, Nov. 9
• In favor of assessing $40 dues for 2024 – Make out your check to PHLGA and give or mail to
Lynn Zeemont – 1236 Regency Ct. by 12/30 to be in the 2024 LGA Directory.

President’s Charity – bring checks to December Luncheon, 12/16


Margie’s choice is La Piñon Sexual Assault Recovery Services
La Piñon is a New Mexico non-profit that has provided 27 years of service to Doña Ana County and the
surrounding region. La Piñon provides services to victims of sexual assault and child abuse through crisis
lines, victim advocacy, human trafficking advocacy, legal advocacy, Children’s Advocacy Center, SANE
examinations, prevention education services, and Kid Talk warmline.

Make checks out to La Piñon SARS.

Treasurer’s Report: Karen


Emailed to members. There were no questions.

Margie and Lynn detailed the end of year expenditures approved by Board:
• $350 to Community Foundation in memory of Mary Salopek for scholarship funds
• $150 gift to Mike Dixon who is leaving after supporting us all these years. We hope to present his gift
at the 12/16 luncheon.
• $$ to PHCC for free mimosas and desserts at December luncheon

There were no nominations from the floor. Proposed slate of officers was unanimously approved.
Margie thanked the other volunteers - Border Rep Lori Coffelt and Advisory Board Rep Paula Hansen.
December Events:

1. Annual Cookie delivery to Pro Shop, Office staff, Maintenance staff:


• Lori volunteered her house to be the drop-off site. She requested that drop-offs be made December 13
and 14 at 1500 Via Norte.
• Delivery to staff will take place on December 15.
• Thanks to Lori, Janis Paul, Linda Chagares and Candy Baker for helping with this endeavor.

2. Saturday December 16th Scramble and Luncheon


Flyer was emailed to all, is posted in locker room
Sign up by 12/9 at the Pro Shop, specifying choice of entrée – chicken cordon bleu or Mediterranean cod.
Lynn took an informal count at the meeting and will notify Nick.

Advisory – Paula
• Permits for the new Pub have been approved and work is ongoing.
• The front areas of the Clubhouse should be rock-scaped by the end of year. No plants can be ordered
yet.
• Rudy will be leaving PHCC to go to Butterfield. His replacement is currently being trained.
• Chad will be leaving in February, moving to Dallas.

Jill of the Hill for November: There was no Jill today.

Note: Jill of Jills and Sally of the Valley will be played on 12/7 (NEXT WEEK) and winners will be announced
at the December Luncheon.

Note: next week’s tee time will be 10:20.
