Lesson Plan in Mathematics 2: I. Objectives
Lesson Plan in Mathematics 2: I. Objectives
Department of Education
Regional IX- Zamboanga Peninsula
DIVISION OF ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY
FIELD OFFICE OF PAYAO
Minundas Elementary School
I. Objectives:
To identify straight lines and curves in a 3-dimensional object.
To appreciate the beauty and complexity of 3-dimensional shapes.
To manipulate 3-dimensional objects to identify different lines and curves.
A. Daily Routine:
1. Prayer
2. Greeting
3. Checking of Attendance
B. Priming:
Recall: Review previous lessons on 3-dimensional shapes and lines.
Motivation: Show students real-world examples where understanding 3-dimensional shapes and
lines is essential (e.g., architecture, design, engineering).
C. Activity:
1. Introduction: Discuss the concept of lines and curves in 3-dimensional objects. Show
examples of various 3-dimensional shapes and ask students to identify lines and curves.
2. Hands-on Exploration: Provide students with different 3-dimensional objects. Ask them
to explore the objects and identify straight lines and curves. Encourage them to feel the
surfaces and manipulate the objects to get a better understanding.
3. Group Activity: Divide students into groups and give each group a different 3-
dimensional object. Have them discuss and identify the lines and curves within the
object. They can present their findings to the class.
4. Guided Practice: Work through examples on the whiteboard, guiding students on how to
identify straight lines and curves in different 3-dimensional shapes.
D. Analysis:
Review: Discuss the findings from the group activity. Clarify any misconceptions and
reinforce key concepts.
Reflection: Ask students to reflect on their learning experience. What did they find
challenging? What strategies helped them identify lines and curves in 3-dimensional
objects?
E. Abstraction:
Summarize the main concepts learned during the lesson. Emphasize the importance of
understanding lines and curves in 3-dimensional objects for various applications.
F. Application:
Practical Application: Assign homework or activities where students have to identify
lines and curves in real-world objects outside of the classroom.
Extension: Challenge students to create their 3-dimensional objects using clay or other
materials, and identify the lines and curves within their creations.
