New Choir seeks Singers! St Giles Church is forming a new choir to sing for
Sunday morning services. If you would like to be part of this initiative, please

Quiz Night February 23rd at the Forest of Galtres Golf Club (by kind
permission of Mrs Sue Procter), 7.30pm. Teams of six, tickets £7.50 per
person. Light supper. Raffle. Proceeds to St. Giles' Church. For tickets

St Giles’ Church has a special Memory Book in church. A beautiful, purpose-
made, ring binder which has been donated to the church. If you would like a

Coffee, Chat and Books. Wednesday, February 7th in Skelton Village Hall,
10.00am - 11.30am. (Every first Wednesday of the month) Find something to

Skelton Gardening Club, Thursday February 15th, 7.30pm, Village Hall,
“Wacks Wicked Plants” Peter and Helleentje Walker. New members always
welcome.. Small charge of £3 for guests.
Skelton Village Trust Speaker Evening Thursday February 1st at 7.30pm in
the Village Hall. "The Trials and Tribulations of an Elizabethan Lady - the
story of one of the earliest migrants to the New World" Speaker Lynne
Ditchburn. Tickets £5 to include a buffet supper and glass of wine/soft drink
available from committee members and the village shop.
Skelton Walking Group. Meet on The Green on Saturday February 3rd at
9.30am for a 6 mile walk from Slingsby followed by a pub lunch. For further

Christian Aid Christmas Card. Thank you to all who signed the card donating
£100. The money will go to Christian Aid's Christmas Appeal providing food
and nutrition training to feed children in South Sudan where many go hungry.
Every £1 raised is being matched by the UK Government meaning we are
sending £200 to this appeal. Thank you!
Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two weeks.
As well as borrowing books & audio books, you can update your library card or
York Card, return books from any other York library, & request books to be
brought to Skelton for you to borrow. The library stops in Fairfields Drive from
2.00pm to 2.45pm & Brecksfield from 2.50pm to 4.00pm. Mondays February

Skelton Primary School are seeking someone with a financial background to
become a volunteer Governor at our wonderful, small, village primary school.
The individual will work with our existing Governors and Headteacher and will
be able to bring their financial experience to the role, offering advice and
guidance on a range of school related issues. If you are interested in applying

sizes, wonderful teaching and fantastic resources and support for all children.

Please vote for us! The Bags of Help Tesco blue token voting system for
funding for the Shipton By Beningbrough playground is now in place until
the end of February. Every shop, when you purchase items in Tesco,
please ask for blue tokens from the retail assistant at the till (including the
lottery/Cigarette counter), self-scan or self-service area. There isn't a
minimum spend and you don't have to buy a bag. Just post the token into
our slot in the bags of help compartment near the main entrance/exit of
Clifton Moor Tesco to vote. Thank you!
Shipton Community Café welcomes customers old and new to Shipton

Forest of Galtres Primary School. We offer the full 30 hours extended
entitlement for 3-year olds in our Early Years area. This can include
breakfast & after school club in our wraparound care. Our Early Years
team has lots of experience in schools & independent settings, including a
fully qualified EYFS teacher working alongside two highly skilled ATAs,

Treasurer required for All Saints Church You do not need to be a
member of the church, but if you’re familiar with Windows 10, computer
literate & good with numbers, we’d love to hear from you. A handover
period of 1—2 months is offered by the retiring Treasurer. Please consider
giving a little of your time to help the church with this vital role. Also
members to form a fundraising sub-committee. We’ve recently re-roofed
the church, but still have an urgent requirement to raise funds to keep the
