Other Descriptions

Among the hospitals in metropolitan Tokyo, our hospital functions as a center for the treatment of
cancer and infectious diseases and is characterized by the following features.
[Cancer Treatment]
The hospital specializes in the treatment of cancer for the population of metropolitan Tokyo and, in
addition to a wide range of departments specializing in the treatment of cancer, we have a fully-
equipped central treatment facility providing procedures such as endoscopy, X-ray diagnosis and
pathology to provide a high level of medical care for the city populace.
In February 2008, the hospital took on a leading role in the treatment of cancer after being designated
as a cancer treatment base within the administrative divisions of Japan.
[Foundation for General Treatment]
In tandem with the growing aging society, the number of patients suffering not only from cancer, but
Comments from diverse complications is on the increase. Organic links between the various departments within the
hospital make it possible to select and implement the ideal treatment for each patient. The hospital is
capable of providing integrated treatment even in cases of difficult illnesses.
[Handling Infectious Diseases]
As well as handling various infectious diseases as a designated medical institution for the treatment of
secondary infectious diseases, the hospital also functions as an AIDS treatment center and provides
positive treatment for AIDS patients.
[Focus on the Roles as an Education and Training Institution]
To keep pace with the constant advances in medical technology, the hospital is unceasingly engaged in
providing comprehensive education and training for physicians and other staff involved in medical
treatment. The hospital also provides positive support for the acquisition of qualifications by its staff
engaged in medical treatment.

Other Descriptions

The Hospital was inaugurated as a metropolitan general hospital for the treatment of emergency
patients suffering serious illness or injury and, with the exception of certain legally-designated
infectious diseases, provides specialized treatment for all illnesses. In particular, the hospital puts
emphasis on the treatment of heart and cerebrovascular diseases.
Additionally, an emergency room is provided for use during the night and on holidays with a total of
17 physicians on hand to provide emergency treatment. As well as emergency cases, a department
specializing in the treatment of children of school age on an out-patient basis is open on Saturdays
and Sundays to make it easy for patients to come to the hospital.
Based on the concepts of "safety, service, manners, scientific foundation and technological
improvements," the nursing department works daily together with physicians and other departments
to provide nursing centered on "team treatment" with the goal of creating a hospital worthy of the
Comments trust of its patients. Moreover, the Respiratory Control Team (RCT), the Infection Control Team (ICT)
and the Nutrition Control Team (NCT) make use of the expertise of nurses qualified in emergency
and intensive care as well as infection control in the execution of their respective functions.
The hospital has a support system the aim of which is to heighten specialized knowledge and
technology through clinical training for new nurses provided within the hospital. Support includes
guidance provided by a job coach over a period of three months and a three-year basic course to
enable trainees to gain independence as primary nurses. Following this, ongoing education such as
carrier-enhancement and nursing training as well as Physical Assessment Seminars and
extracurricular training is available. Furthermore, the hospital serves the role as a treatment center
covering a wide disaster area and provides "Specialized Disaster Training" that provides training
from the basics to foster instructors in disaster nursing.

(Method to reflect the experience as a nurse in Indonesia to the amount of salary, etc.)
We will promote the understanding of the role of a nurse through communication not
only with nursing staff but also with staff in other fields and patients. Also, we will
promote the learning to understand the manuals for job, including responses to
patients, safety and sanitation. Participation in events for international cultural
exchanges, including volunteer activities in the community, will mitigate the confusion
coming from the living environment change and cultural and religious differences and
will help mutual understanding.
<Involvement by supporters>
Main activities in the initial week will be the orientation and tour for inspection of
Other Descriptions facilities, during which supports will be given for understanding of job. Then, the
trainees will gradually enter into the practices in partnership with other staff.
We will support the trainees in using institutions in the neighborhood, including bank
and post office, to avoid anxiety in daily life.
To promote the communication with local people, we will offer an opportunity for the
trainees to experience the Japanese cultures, including flower arrangement, dressing in
Japanese kimono, calligraphy and Japanese food, through volunteer entities.
We will give an opportunity for the trainees to experience the Japanese traditional
events, including Star Festival and fireworks festival.
We will create an opportunity for the trainees to experience the Japanese cultures by
means of stay in and visit to Japanese homes under cooperation of volunteer entities
and staff.
The Facility is located in the area, 30 minutes from Akihabara, Tokyo by Tsukuba
Express starting in August 2005, where the cutting-edge medical, research and
educational institutions well harmonize the nature. In Facility A, English-speaking
assistant nurses and office clerks can support those who come from Indonesia as life
supporters though they are not positioned as training supporters in this training.
Characteristics of Japanese people which may be different from those of Indonesian
people may often confuse the prospective nurses from Indonesia, but seeing the actual
medical scenes will help them understand what services are rendered to patients in
Comments Japan. On the other hand, accepting nurses from Indonesia may offer a great
opportunity to the accepting facility to learn much because they may offer nursing
knowledge the Japanese nurses would not have. Construction of educational system will
lead to the establishment of better environment. Nobody can flee from the religion or
sense of value, but it is important for both sides to “come together” toward the target not
placing emphasis on either side.
We believe that the fruitful training in a given time will generate the benefit on both
sides by itself.
