Тема: Weather and clothes.


Мета уроку:
- практична: активізувати та узагальнювати вивчену лексику з теми «Природа», «Одяг»; вчити
учнів робити повідомлення на основі мовленнєвої ситуації, формувати лексичну компетенцію з
теми, розвивати творчий потенціал учнів;

- освітня: розширити ерудицію учнів, поглибити знання з теми; Формувати комунікативну та


соціокультурну компетенцію;

- розвиваюча: розвивати навички говоріння, читання, аудіювання; розвивати увагу, пам’ять,


спостережливість, уяву та самостійність у праці;

- виховна: виховувати любов та шанобливе ставлення до природи, взаєморозуміння, культуру

Тип уроку: урок узагальнення та систематизації знань.


Обладнання: персональний комп’ютер, мультимедійне обладнання, презентація,
відеоматеріал, картки, тематичні ілюстрації.

Хід уроку:
І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.
1) Організаційний момент. Привітання.
T.: Good morning! How are you getting on??? I think it’s high time to begin our lesson. But today we
have an unusual lesson. There are some gests here. Let’s greet them!!!

Will you smile? Well, I see you are in a good mood today. But you have to remember: Don’t be afraid or
shy to speak out. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. So? Let’s go!

2) Фонетична розминка.
T.: But at the beginning of the lesson let’s see if you can speak English correctly. Prepare your tongues .
Repeat after me. All together.

"Whether the weather is warm, whether the weather is hot, we have to put up with the weather,
whether we like it or not."

ІІ. Основна частина уроку.


1) Повідомлення теми і мети уроку.
T: It was great. Thank you. I think now you can understand that today we are going to
speak about the weather and clothes. We’ll listen to a weather forecast, sing a song and
check your projects about the weather and clothes in different seasons. And to your
surprise during the lesson you will receive small suns for your activity knowledge and at
the end of the lesson you can change them to your marks.

2) Мовленнєва розминка.(Speaking activity)


T.: How many seasons are there in the year? What are they? Do you like today’s weather?
What is the weather like today?

T.: To answer this questions, let’s remember weather words.

Look at the screen and read the sentence.

(It’s rainy, snowy, freezing cold, sunny, stormy, cloudy and hot)

T: So, what is the weather like today?

Ps.: It’s …. today. (Cold, sunny, warm, cool, hot, frosty, snowy, rainy, foggy, wet, cloudy,
freezing cold, a bit chilly.)

2) Brainstorming
T.: I’m sure you know what is the typical weather for different seasons? Let’s check it.

3) Listening activity.

T: Oh, yes you know a lot. I see you are ready to listen to the weather forecasts and try to
match your answers with my questions. Take you cards and look at the screen.

a) Is it going to be rainy that day? (Yes, it is.)


b) Why? (because it was cold and humid that day)
c) What is the weather in Northern Canada? (It’s snowy in Northern Canada)
d) What is the weather in South America? (It is hot and sunny in south America)
e) What is the weather in some parts of Europe? (The temperature is cool. And it is windy)
f) What is the weather in Asia? (It’s cloudy and warm).
g) What is the weather today in America? (The weather is overcast. The rain is possible.)
T. Thank you. You were brilliant as usual.

4) Speaking activity.

What weather do you like/dislike. Look at the screen and say/

I like when the weather is …. (cold, sunny, warm, cool, hot, frosty, snowy, rainy, foggy, wet,
cloudy, freezing cold, a bit chilly.)

I dislike the weather with…. (a lot of snow, a lot of sunshine, a cold wind, a thick fog, thunder
and lightning, a heavy shower.)

T.: Ok. Yes, sometimes the weather is not very comfortable, but English men usually say:
“There is no bad weather there are bad clothes”. But as for me, you have to relax a little bit.

4) Game “Washing line”


T.:Thanks a lot. So, today we are going to speak about suitable clothes for different type
of weather. Now let’s face the challenge of the next task. The wind was blowing and it
mixed the clothes from different washing lines. I don’t know what to do. Will you help
me? You have to put the words to the right washing lines-groups:.

Words: a raincoat, a coat, a belt, trainers, sunglasses, boots, gloves, a suit, a scarf, jeans, a
tie, a cap, a tracksuit, a hat, a skirt, trousers, a t-shirt, socks, a shirt, shorts, sandals, a
blouse, shoes, a jacket, a jumper, boots, umbrella.

5) Game “In my suitcase”


T.: Let’s play another game”In my suitcase” . On the board you can see a lot of words to
describe weather. You have to choose the picture and to say what kind of weather you
usually wear it in.

(P.: I wear a scarf when it is windy. I think a jacket is right clothes for warm weather.)

6) Checking homework. Project works.


T.: Your homework was to be fashion designers.You had to choose appropriate clothes
to the weather in your continent. Who wants to be the first?
T.: Thank you so much. It’s time to finish our lesson

You must repeat all words and words combinations about the weather and clothes
