Session 1

– Write a 100-word summary of the most important findings of the lesson and how you are going to use them
in your professional practice.

The most prominent findings of the lesson for me were some planning
strategies. To be honest, I was aware of the fact that lessons and therefore
plans should contain many various tasks, they should be balanced, there
should be lots of communication and so on. Now I know that these features
are conditioned owing to certain strategies such as flexibility, variety, balance,
logical sequence, communicative practice and scaffolding. I cannot choose the
most important strategy, because all of them are small parts of the huge
masterpiece. I am sure that I will use all of the strategies for creating plans in
my professional practice.

Session 2
Lesson plan. Lesson 1 (Fly High 1)
Warming up: 1)What’s your name? I’m.. explain your pupils in Ukrainian and
give an example;

2) using 3 character flashcards elicit the names from pupils.

Exercise 1 p. 6. Listen and point. Then say.

● Present the vocabulary using flashcards (hold them, show, and ask
children to repeat).

Подивіться на картинки! Що це? Правильно, це слон! Англійською буде

“It’s an elephant”. Повторюйте за мною..

● Відкрийте Ваші книжки на сторінці 6. Бачите картинки? Вони Вам

знайомі? Нагадайте мені, хто на них зображений?
● Play a recording.

Я умікну вам аудіо, а ви уважно слухайте і вкажіть на картинку, про яку

розповідається.

● Showing the pictures. What’s that?

 Exercise 2. 6. Look and listen.

● Подивіться, які у нас тут є гарні картинки. А хто тут

зображений? Who is this? Trumpet? Cabu? Paco? Покажіть і назвіть,
show me!
● Ви можете мені розповісти, що тут зображено?
● Play the recording. Children listen and point the characters.

Слухайте уважно і показуйте на Трампета, Кабу і Пако, як тільки

почуєте їхні імена.

Exercise 3 p.6. (Listen again and say)

● Play again and pause after each line, children repeat.

● Divide them into 3 groups.

Добре, а тепер давайте пограємо з Вами в гру (pull out stickers from the
hat) і дітки з однаковими стікерами збираються разом.

● Group 1 to repeat Trumpet's lines, Group 2 to repeat Cabu's lines and

Group 3 to repeat Paco's line. Play the CD again.
● Act out the story with yourself and two children.
● Put the children into groups of three to act out the story.
● Groups come to the front of the class to act out the story.

А тепер ваша черга розіграти сценку! Виходьте по черзі і за гарну

роботу ви отримаєте подарунки.

Exercise 4 p. 7. (Listen and point)

● • Play the CD. Pause after each character speaks. Hold up a character
flashcard and prompt the children to shout Yes if it is the correct
character or No.

Ви будете слухати, а я вам показувати картинки. Але чомусь цей

аудіозапис всі дорослі дуже погано чують, лише дітки можуть почути
гарно, що там. Я буду намагатися все-все почути, і буду вам
показувати картинки, а ви мені скажіть,чи ту картинку я показала.
Використовуйте слова “Так” і “Ні”.Давайте, як ми скажемо англійською
“Так”? Yes! А “Ні”? No!

Exercise 5 p. 7. (Listen and say)

● А покажіть маски, які ви робили вдома. Все у вас вийшло? Молодці!

● Подивіться на фото у вправі. Слухайте уважно і повторюйте за
дітьми.
● Put the children in pairs. Tell one child in each pair to put on a character
mask. Ask several pairs to stand up and demonstrate the dialogue for
the class. Present “I'm a girl” for the girls.

Exercise 6 p. 7. (Draw and say)

● Draw a face on the board. Point to it and say your name.

Дивіться, це моє лице і це я. Hello! My name is Olya. I’m a girl.

● Подивіться на фото у вправі. Намалюйте себе.

● Ask some of the children to stand up, hold up the picture they have
drawn and say: Hello. I'm (name). I'm a (boy/girl).

Homework: Activity book p.2.

Ending the lesson: Бувайте! Трампету, Кабу і Пако було дуже приємно з
вами сьогодні поспілкуватись і пограти. Будьте чемними дітками,
попрощайтесь з ними! (Show the pictures of the characters). Скажімо “
Goodbye, Trumpet! Goodbye, Cabu! Goodbye, Paco! Goodbye, Olha!”
